FACTS ABOUT POMEGRANATES

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT POMEGRANATES :-

1. A pomegranate tree can grow up to fifteen feet in height and may live for more than 

one hundred years.

2. Pomegranates are a rich source of a strong anti-oxidant class known as punicalagins 

which are thought to be responsible for the major health benefits of the juice.

3. The ancient Romans used pomegranate rinds as a form of leather.

4. The antioxidant potential of the pomegranate fruit is thought to be up to three times 


higher than that of green tea and red wine.

5. There is more scientific research being done on the health benefits of pomegranate


 than almost any other fruit due to its potential health benefits.

Mysore Bonda

Ingredients:

1cup Maida (all purpose flour)

1/4 cup rice powder

2 table spoons rava (sooji)

1 cup curd (Sour curd is good)

2 green chillies

1 tea spoon salt (as per taste)

1 tea spoon jeera

8 to 10 curry leaves

1/2 inch ginger

1 onion

A pinch of soda bi carb

OIl for deep fry
 
Method:

Mix Maida, rice flour, sooji and curd in a bowl and keep it aside for half an hour (or 1 hr).
 
2. Chop finely green chillies, onion, curry leaves and ginger.
 
3. Add the chopped things, jeera, soda bicarb and salt to the batter and mix well. 
 
4. Heat Oil for deep fry in a pan.  Drop the batter with a spoon or with your fingers into the oil carefully and fry until golden brown in a medium flame.  Remove and drain on a kitchen paper.  Mysore bajji is ready............Serve hot with coconut chutney
