Bajra ka kichidi
Bajra ka kichidi
Procedure:
1) Take 1 cup of bajra (Pearl millet) and make to fine powder. It'll take just couple of minutes in a mixer-grinder. (No need to make it to powder if you want to spend some time in eating),
2) Boil 4 cups of water in a vessel.
3) Take one cup of rice, wash and add to boiling water.
4) Take 1 cup of green gram dal (moong), wash and add to the vessel.
5) Add bajra to the vessel (powder or direct).
6) Add fine cut carrot, corn, green peas.
7) Wait for 15 min, and see if rice is completely cooked (softer).
8) Add 1tsp salt, 1/2tsp chilli powder and 1/2 tsp ghee if required.
9) Keep the vessel aside and add tadkha with oil, urad dal, rai, jeera and hing.
It tastes good with coconut or ginger chutney.
